This a quick guide that shares the tactics needed to defeat all the bosses in Lair of Maarselok dungeon in Elder Scrolls Online Scalebreaker DLC.
Selene. This is the first boss encounter in Lair of Maarselok, an Elder Scrolls Online dungeon that is part of the Scalebreaker DLC. The boss summons a bear and a spider. The tank will face them away from the group. There is avoidable AOE on the ground. Players can avoid the poison by rolling or blocking.
Azureblight Lurcher. This fight is not complicated in terms of mechanics but it requires attention. Tanks need to turn the boss away from the group. Ground AOEs can be avoided. Keep in mind that you will also need to avoid the fire breath line AOE which can be tricky if it overlaps with other ground AOEs. There will also be some ads that must be tanked and killed as soon as possible.
Azureblight Cancroid. In the first phase, you will face a lurcher. Make sure to avoid the stomp AOE by moving out or blocking it. After this attack, keep an eye on the ground and move out of the blue area as you will take lots of damage. The tank should kite the boss so all other players can still reach it from outside the blue area. After the lurcher dies, you can activate a mechanic that causes the main boss, the tree, to drop the shield. Save all DPS cooldowns for this phase. Ideally, you will want to kill the main boss with as few repetitions of the first phase as possible. If there are any ads, they take priority.
Maarselok. This is mostly an ad fight in which you need to keep monsters away from Selene while she summons spiders that damage Maarselok. Stranglers are the ads that have priority. The hoarvor comes next. Avoid the ground AOE and block Maarselok’s shout.
Maarselok and Selene. It’s very important to avoid damage in this fight. Don’t stand in front of the boss when he is flying across the room. Move to the sides or as far away as possible. The sweeping fire breath can be roll dodged. All of the boss’s attacks can be avoided. There are some ground AOEs that should be avoided as well. If you get the blue debuff, go to the green glowing platform to remove it.
